Chemistry as a Minor

The Chemistry Minor
The Rutgers Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology offers a minor in chemistry for those who would like a solid chemistry foundation to complement their current major, or for those simply interested in the subject. The minor consists of a core set of courses that are required, and two possible options to satisfy the remaining credit requirement.

Core Courses

  1. General Chemistry I (01:160:161 OR Honors 01:160:163)
  2. General Chemistry II (01:160:162 OR Honors 01:160:164)
  3. Introduction to Experimentation (01:160:171)
  4. Organic Chemistry I (01:160:307 OR Honors 01:160:315)
  5. Organic Chemistry II (01:160:308 OR Honors 01:160:316)

Option 1 – Inorganic Chemistry

  1. Organic Chemistry Lab (01:160:309 OR 01:160:311)
  2. Chemical Bonding (01:160:361)
  3. Inorganic Chemistry (01:160:371)

Option 2 – Physical Chemistry

  1. Organic Chemistry Lab (01:160:309 OR 01:160:311) OR Analytical Chemistry (01:160:251)
  2. Physical Chemistry I (01:160:327)
